We know dental emergencies can be stressful and happen when you least expect them to. 

Whether it’s a chipped tooth, severe toothache, or dental injury from play or sports, we are here to help! Dr. Harvey provides fast, gentle emergency dental care to children in Columbus and surrounding communities, prioritizing urgent cases to relieve pain and protect your child’s oral health.

We’ll schedule your child as soon as possible and guide you over the phone on what to do before your visit. Our goal is to make a stressful situation more manageable with expert care and a calm, reassuring approach.

Common Dental Emergencies We Treat: 

  • Toothaches and swelling
  • Broken, cracked, or chipped teeth
  • Knocked-out teeth
  • Dental infections or abscesses 
  • Soft tissue injuries to the mouth or gums 

What to Do in a True Dental Emergency:

Knocked-Out Baby Tooth:

  • Do not try to reinsert the tooth
  • Call our office as soon as possible

Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth:

  • Place the tooth back in the socket immediately, if possible
  • If not, store it in milk or your child’s saliva (not water)
  • Do not let the tooth dry out or touch the root
  • Call us right away

Facial Swelling from Infection:

  • Call our office immediately
  • If your child has trouble breathing, swallowing, or the swelling is near the eye, go to the emergency room

After-Hours Emergencies

We provide emergency dental care after hours for established patients. If your child is a current patient and experiencing an urgent dental issue outside of regular hours, don’t hesitate to contact us.
